In Tandem
Title: In Tandem
Genre: Fluff, I guess
Rating: G
Word Count: 310
Pairing: Martha/Jack
Summary: A dance in the rain.
Author's Notes: I got stuck in the rain yesterday, and this came to me.

"MARTHA!" Gwen yelled at the newest member of the team.

"It's amazing." Was Martha's only response as she did a little turn in the rain.

"You're getting soaked." Gwen responded practically.

Martha just turned and smiled back at them, before raising her head to the sky. She let the rain wash over her. Her clothes stuck to her from the wet and her hair hung straighter, and closer to her head, her eyes were closed and her lips parted somewhere between a smile and a gasp. She was beautiful.

Jack just watched from his place next to Gwen. He had a small grin on his face, as he admired the way the woman just enjoyed the torrents of rain that came down on her from the heavens.

Then he followed her into madness. He took off his coat and gave it to Gwen to hold.

"Oh not you too." Gwen said with a degree of annoyance as Jack smiled and walked out from under the small canopy which protected the team of Torchwood Three from becoming completely soaked, well the four who wished to remain dry. The other two, the two who were the leader's decided that being soaked was infinitely more fun.

"Dr. Martha Jones?" Jack said surprising her to a degree.

"Yes, Captain Jack Harkness?" Martha said lowering her head to look him in the eye.

"May I have this dance?" He offered her his hand.

There was no quip about there being no music, no idea that it was insane, and silly, there was just a light laugh from her parted lips. Martha's hand slipped into his, and their feet began to move to the beat of planets revolving, and stars combusting, and two heart beats of one man which kept their own afloat with hope. They smiled at each other as their bodies moved in tandem.

That's wonderful. Thank you! Brings back memories of a walk in a thunderstorm nearly 30 years ago. Our housemates both thought we were mad ( They were probably right - not exactly safe, but we didn't care.
